One of my favorite things to do after I get home from a long day of work is to hop in a hot, preferably-candle-lit shower. Unfortunately I don’t always have time for the candles, but the hot part is a must. The other must, of late, has been my specialty soap and body scrub from Amber of Creamed Soaps.
Now let me preface this by saying I have been known to be a bit of a soap snob… yes that is a real thing. Back when I was living in DC, you could find me early morning on any given Saturday or Sunday before or after my volunteer work at the soap man’s stand at Eastern Market. I’d be the one in worn Uggs and a printed headwrap, pressing my nose into the bins, searching for the perfect peppermint and sandalwood blend, with or without the little scrubby beads. I knew my soaps – not the technical terms – but the ones I liked. Regular store-brand soap, I kept in the pantry just in case guest popped over and needed a bar or heaven forbid, I ran out of my special blends. But as for me and my household, we shall use specialty soap… handcrafted with aromatherapy and misshapen edges.
Which is why when Amber approached me about sending over a few samples of her products to use and potentially share, I was all for it… albeit a little skeptical. Because although living in New York now and too far to frequent my beloved soap man at Eastern Market, I still didn’t know much about Creamed Soaps. And it’s always a little awkward when a brand sends me a product that I may not feel too inclined to share with my family. Happily, though, this was not that.
Talk about spa in a box. Y’all, I love it. Like, for reals, this soap and body scrub gives me all the feels. And it’s funny because when I first received and tried her products, my initial thought was to have her teach me how to make it. Because somewhere in my overactive mind, I’m not already stretched beyond the max and think that I actually have time to make, package, and sell soap. The same way I am convinced I have time to make candles and grow a succulent garden. I don’t. But I forget sometimes. So for now… I’ll just be a happy and satisfied customer and promoter of all things lalovelee… and these, my dear, are lovelee.
So lovelee, in fact, that I believe the actual fragrances I sampled are already sold out. But not to fret, or reach for the store-brand just yet. There are plenty more available. Items like the Soap Box offer all five of the signature scents, or the tumeric lemongrass & sweet orange and the Eucalyptus, Lavender, Cedarwood Oatmeal soap are still there for the taking. And in addition to her vegan soaps, there are special edition soaps, sugar scrubs, butters & balms, and gift sets.
So do yourself a solid and gift yourself and/or someone you love a brand new item for luxurious self-care. You can find them at www.CreamedSoaps.com and on Instagram at @creamedsoaps. And to make the pot even sweeter, between now and 4/19, you will receive 15% off all orders $20+ using the coupon code LALOVELEE. See? Told ya I love ya!
Do you like to experiment with different soaps and scrubs? If so, what are some of your favorite products and scents? And let me know if you are going to try Creamed Soaps! I’d like to hear your thoughts! Now excuse me while I go run this shower…
PS… Do you have a product or service you’d like me to review and potentially share with my fam? Shoot me a message!
